Eleven people were killed in a mass shooting at a residential building near Durban, South Africa.
Armed assailants entered a home in the KwaMakhutha township on Tuesday evening and opened fire on 14 individuals, killing ten at the scene and sending four to hospital, where one later succumbed to their injuries, according to police.
Police indicated that some victims were linked to ongoing investigations of illegal activities, though they declined to disclose details at this stage to protect the integrity of the inquiry.
The motive for the shooting remains unconfirmed, and police said they cannot exclude a possible feud between rival groups.
Police stated that, at this point, 13 men and a pregnant woman were attending a party inside the house when three assailants opened fire, resulting in the deaths of the woman and others.
