Elite UK REIT has signed a £50 million Murabaha financing agreement with Malayan Banking Berhad, Singapore Branch, and RHB Bank Berhad.
The REIT regards this as the first sterling‑denominated, sustainability‑linked, Shariah‑compliant Murabaha facility of its kind.
The 48‑month facility, advanced through the REIT’s wholly‑owned subsidiary Elite Phoenix Limited, was structured to partially finance the acquisition of five government‑leased properties in the United Kingdom, refinance existing debt, and provide for general corporate and working‑capital requirements.
As of 17 August 2026, £22 million of the facility had already been drawn to fund the acquisition, which was completed on that date.
For unitholders, the importance of this transaction goes beyond its sustainability and Shariah‑compliance credentials.
