Ellie Goulding energized the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami during the 2026 FIFA World Cup quarterfinal clash between England and Norway, performing her hit “Lights” at halftime. The British singer also opened the pregame festivities with a rendition of “Outside,” setting an electric tone for the match.
On Friday, Goulding announced her halftime performance via Instagram, expressing pride in her home nation: “Performing at the FIFA World Cup quarterfinal for England vs. Norway has me feeling like truly anything could happen. I already know the boys will make England proud, it’s coming home.”
England’s victory in the match secured their spot in the semifinals, where they will face Argentina on July 15 in Atlanta, Georgia. The winner of that game will advance to the World Cup final on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, featuring headliners Justin Bieber, BTS, Madonna, and Shakira.
Last month, Goulding revealed her sixth studio album, I Know Too Much, scheduled for release on September 4. This project follows her 2023 album Higher Than Heaven, which topped the U.K. Albums Chart.
