“It was fantastic—an intense match. First and foremost, DR Congo is a tough team,” Kane remarked. “After the first hydration break, we raised our level and looked sharp. Their keeper made incredible saves, but we kept pressing.”
DR Congo’s early goal by Brian Cipenga and Lionel Mpasi’s five saves kept them in contention. However, Kane’s brace proved decisive in securing England’s progression.
