England Captain Sciver-Brunt to Sit Out Initial Two Trent Rockets Matches Due to Calf Injury

England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt is set to miss the first two matches of the Trent Rockets’ The Hundred campaign as the team manages her workload.

The 33-year-old all-rounder has been managing a persistent calf injury sustained while playing for The Blaze in April.

The injury has sidelined her throughout the summer, causing her to miss England’s early series against New Zealand and India, as well as three group-stage matches in the T20 World Cup.

Her absence necessitated a role adjustment during the World Cup, where England were defeated by Australia in the final at Lord’s.

England’s next series begins on 1 September with three one-day internationals against Ireland.

Trent Rockets’ Hundred campaign starts Friday against Birmingham Phoenix at 15:00 BST, followed by a Sunday clash with London Spirit.

Sciver-Brunt previously led the Rockets but stepped down as captain in 2025 after assuming England’s captaincy.

Her wife, former England bowler Katherine, recently joined the Rockets as assistant coach.
