Marcus Ericsson claimed his first IndyCar victory in over three years, passing Romain Grosjean with five laps remaining to win on the streets of Markham. The Swedish driver, now racing for Andretti Global, crossed the finish line 7.5 seconds ahead of the field to secure the fifth win of his career and his first since the 2023 season opener at St. Petersburg.
The result ended a 63-race winless drought for Ericsson. Grosjean settled for second place, marking his sixth career runner-up finish and seventh podium overall. The Frenchman remains winless in 77 IndyCar starts.
Will Power held off a late charge to claim the final podium position in third. Alex Palou finished fourth, while Pato O’Ward rounded out the top five. The attrition-heavy event saw eight drivers fail to finish, with 14 competitors ultimately classified on the lead lap.
