Ernest W. Baker’s Spring 2027 collection solidified its place on the Parisian men’s fashion calendar. The recent show held in a white-carpeted space in Belleville showcased the label’s refined yet innovative edge, establishing Reid Baker and Inês Amorim as key figures to watch. Their collaboration crafted a narrative of cinematic luxury, blending high-end tailoring with artistic flair.

Post-show, the pair reflected on their meticulous process. “We maintain a rigorous benchmark and continuously elevate our aesthetic,” Baker shared. “This show aimed to deliver something impactful,” he added.

The presentation was theatrical yet wearable. Beginning with crisp tailoring and Dalmatian-patterned skirts and blouses, the collection evoked an 1980s Wall Street power suit reimagined through the lens of the cult film Smithereens. Punky checks and leather accents added a rebellious counterpoint, balanced by sleek leather gloves and wraparound sunglasses.

Textile innovation and precision tailoring were central. Swarovski-embellished strips added sparkle to sharp black ensembles that shimmered with motion. A sheeny black cotton set managed to evoke both fabric and leather in its finish.

Baker explained, “We aim to fuse European refinement with American edge without leaning too heavily into either. This partnership allows us to harmonize opposites—classy meets raw.” The concept resonated in a standout piece: a leather biker jacket reworked as formal wear, paired with a bow tie. “It embodies Ernest’s bold simplicity,” Baker noted, highlighting the contrast between edgy and polished.
