(RTTNews) – Essity AB (ESSITY-B.ST, ESSITY-A.ST), a leading hygiene and health company, announced on Thursday that its net income for the second quarter of 2026 declined year-over-year. Despite a rise in total sales fueled by increased volumes and a more favorable product mix, profitability saw a downward trend.
During the second quarter, net profit dropped to SEK 2.69 billion, down from SEK 3.05 billion in the same period last year.
Earnings per share were recorded at SEK 3.94, compared to SEK 4.39 in the previous year.
EBITA fell to SEK 4.11 billion from SEK 4.63 billion a year ago.
Operating profit also declined, reaching SEK 3.85 billion from SEK 4.39 billion in the prior year.
In contrast to the profit decline, net sales grew to SEK 35.06 billion, up from SEK 34.19 billion in the previous year.
On Wednesday, Essity AB shares closed up 0.11% at SEK 278.90 on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
