Ethiopia and Eritrea have cut diplomatic ties, prompting heightened regional tensions that the African Union urges all parties to temper. Ethiopian troops are now moving toward the Tigray capital as combat intensifies and fresh explosions echo in Addis Ababa. In Côte d’Ivoire, a growing number of urban professionals are turning to agricultural production; on weekends, civil servants, entrepreneurs and traders travel to rural areas to work their farms for additional income. Managing remote plantations, however, presents several logistical challenges. Meanwhile, Senegal prepares for a landmark event: Dakar will host the 2026 Youth Olympic Games, the first Olympic Games to be held in Africa.
