EU Imposes Sanctions on Iranian Judges Amid Crackdown on Cyber‑Enabled Repression

BRUSSELS, July 24 (Reuters) — The European Union has introduced new restrictive measures targeting Iranian judges implicated in human rights abuses, EU High Representative Kaja Kallas announced on Friday, noting that a prominent figure in a cyber‑surveillance network alleged to facilitate the regime’s information repression has also been sanctioned.

“As Tehran steps up its domestic crackdown, the EU will continue to hold those responsible to account,” Kallas wrote on the social‑media platform X.

Kallas did not disclose the identities of the individuals sanctioned.
