Everton Nearing Double Deal for Tyrique George and Hayden Hackney

Everton are on the verge of securing signings for winger Tyrique George from Chelsea and midfielder Hayden Hackney from Middlesbrough.

George, an England Under-21 international, featured 11 times for the Toffees last season following a February loan move. While Everton opted not to trigger a permanent £25m buyout clause included in that agreement, David Moyes remains keen to bring the 20-year-old to Goodison Park on a permanent basis.

Negotiations regarding the payment structure have advanced rapidly this week. It is understood that an agreement is imminent, with Everton paying a lower initial fee while Chelsea will likely reach their desired valuation through performance-related add-ons.

A similar financial framework has facilitated a breakthrough in the pursuit of Hayden Hackney. Despite interest from Crystal Palace and only one year remaining on his contract, Middlesbrough held out for a £25m valuation. Everton have now agreed to a deal consisting of a £16.5m guaranteed fee, potentially rising to £25m with add-ons.

The 24-year-old Hackney, who was named the Championship Player of the Season for 2025-26, is expected to undergo a medical shortly and finalize his move to Everton by the end of the week.
