Manchester City’s summer strategy is already shaping up following Pep Guardiola’s departure, and Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye has reportedly become a surprising target.
According to journalist Alan Nixon, the club is evaluating a move for the Senegalese international as it prepares for a new era at the Etihad.
Guardiola departed after a decade that redefined City’s identity, with chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak describing his impact as era‑defining.
While Ndiaye may not be the most high‑profile name linked with City, his profile is intriguing. He is technically adept, direct, intelligent in tight spaces and capable of operating as a winger, wide midfielder or second striker.
Why Manchester City Are Interested
His versatility could appeal to a City side that values players able to fill multiple attacking roles under a new manager.
The 26‑year‑old has established a solid reputation at Everton since arriving from Marseille. Premier League data records 66 appearances, 15 goals and three assists, demonstrating his smooth adaptation to English football.
Across his career, Ndiaye has continued to progress, scoring 15 league goals for Everton over two seasons and earning 39 caps for Senegal, including four international goals.
Everton’s position will be crucial. Although not eager to sell, reports suggest they could entertain a departure if the financial terms are satisfactory.
Ndiaye’s Prospects at the Etihad
For City, the key question is whether Ndiaye would accept a role that may not guarantee a weekly start, given the depth of elite attacking talent at the club.
Nevertheless, the opportunity to join one of Europe’s premier teams is compelling. Ndiaye would likely be viewed as a smart squad addition—offering energy, versatility and Premier League experience—rather than a marquee signing.
