A powerful explosion was heard in Aden, in southern Yemen, according to an Al Jazeera reporter and a police official.
The police official said smoke was rising near Aden’s airport, which is controlled by the internationally recognised Yemeni government.
Reporting from Taiz, Al Jazeera’s Maha Ali said the Houthis had launched a ballistic missile toward Aden airport.
Houthi spokesperson Yahya Saree said the missile targeted the Saudi-led coalition’s military operations room at Badr Camp in Aden.
Saree described the attack as “precise and direct.”
