The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of a teething toy that has been available on Amazon for years, following at least three reported choking incidents.
The CPSC determined that GOPO TOYS’ Pull‑String Teething Toys fail to meet mandatory safety standards, as the silicone strings are excessively long and can become lodged in a child’s throat, creating a severe risk of respiratory distress and fatal choking.
The recall, announced on Thursday, affects more than 70,000 units of the product.
Consumers are urged to stop using the toy immediately and contact GOPO Toys for a full refund; the company requests that the product be destroyed by cutting all silicone strings and marking the item with the word “DESTROYED” in permanent ink.

Photos of the recalled item should be emailed to recalls@gopotoys.com, and the toy must be discarded.
The toys were sold on Amazon from August 2023 through March 2026, with distribution centered in San Bernardino, California, and manufacturing in China.

At least three children experienced the toy becoming lodged in the back of their throat, leading to respiratory distress or choking, the CPSC reported.
