A bus accident on Egypt’s Dahab-Nuweibaa road in South Sinai on Wednesday resulted in at least 16 fatalities and 28 injuries, according to a statement from the health ministry.
Israel Police and Magen David Adom are actively verifying whether any Israeli nationals were injured in the accident, N12 reported.
The Red Sea coastal region remains a popular destination for tourists.
This follows a similar road accident last month in Egypt’s Ismailia governorate that killed 15 people and wounded 32 others.
This is a developing story.
