The FBI has confirmed it is investigating a reported intrusion into its systems after the cybercriminal group ShinyHunters claimed to have exfiltrated a vast trove of sensitive personnel data.
The digital extortion collective alleged on Tuesday that it had compromised the bureau’s online jobs portal, asserting it obtained records for nearly all active FBI agents as well as individuals who had submitted job applications to the agency.
