PESHAWAR – Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced on Thursday that both the federal and provincial governments are collaborating to allocate the resources required to enhance the operational capabilities of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police and its Counter‑Terrorism Department, and will sustain these efforts moving forward.
During the visit, the minister laid a floral wreath at the Police Martyrs Memorial and offered a prayer. He also inspected drones, night‑vision weapons, and other security equipment stationed at the facility.
A special session convened at the CPO under Naqvi’s chairmanship, attended by KP Chief Secretary Shahab Ali, Frontier Constabulary Commandant Nazir Gara, the CTD chief, and other senior officials.
Naqvi emphasized that the KP police are at the forefront of counter‑terrorism operations and that modern weapons, advanced technology, and essential equipment are being prioritized for the force.
He reiterated that the federal and provincial authorities will continue to cooperate to supply the resources needed to further bolster the operational capacity of the KP police and CTD.
Naqvi additionally announced that the federal government will fully back advanced counter‑terrorism training initiatives for both the KP Police and the CTD.
