Federal authorities executed a search warrant at the Minnesota home of Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar this week, just weeks before her reelection campaign.
The raid and seizure of documents are part of an investigation into possible criminal immigration fraud, according to reports from The Washington Post. The probe examines whether Omar falsified paperwork to enter the United States, allegations she has denied. Omar, the first Somali American to serve in Congress, immigrated to the country as a child decades ago.
