
WASHINGTON — The Federal Reserve voted 12-0 on Wednesday to raise its benchmark interest rate by 25 basis points, marking the first rate increase in three years as inflation remains stubbornly high. The hike comes amid surging energy prices and continued geopolitical tensions in Iran.
