Fenix Resources has obtained the necessary regulatory and environmental clearances to advance the Beebyn‑W10 iron ore project, situated next to its current Beebyn‑W11 operation within the Weld Range Project in Western Australia.

The company stated that development may proceed after the approval of its Mining Development and Closure Proposal and the issuance of a Native Vegetation Clearing Permit by the state’s Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety.

Additionally, the Department of Water and Environmental Protection has granted Fenix a Prescribed Premises Works Licence, authorising a production capacity of up to six million tonnes per annum (mtpa) at the Beebyn Hub.

The Beebyn‑W10 site is located within the native‑title claim area of the Wajarri Yamaji People.

Fenix has entered into a letter of consent with the Wajarri Yamaji People to commence mining at Beebyn‑W10, governed by the terms of a Cultural Heritage Agreement.

Further negotiations are underway to formalise a comparable agreement for Beebyn‑W10.

Ore production at Beebyn‑W10 is projected to begin this quarter, with the first shipments expected in the December 2026 quarter.

The combined operations of Beebyn‑W10 and Beebyn‑W11, collectively referred to as the Beebyn Hub, are intended to achieve a production capacity of up to 6mtpa, forming the cornerstone of Fenix’s three‑year plan through the 2028 financial year.

The expansion entails raising Beebyn‑W11’s output from 1.5mtpa to 3mtpa and increasing the site’s crushing capacity.

A December 2025 scoping study outlined plans to elevate the project’s production to roughly 10mtpa by 2031 and to extend operations until 2042.

In September 2025, the company secured a 30‑year exclusive right to mine and export from the Weld Range Project.

A definitive feasibility study for the project is currently underway and is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2026.

Fenix executive chairman John Welborn remarked: “Securing the essential approvals to commence mining at Beebyn‑W10 represents a significant milestone for Fenix.”

“The establishment of the Beebyn Hub is vital for the ongoing ramp‑up of our Weld Range Iron Ore Project. The transformation outlined in our three‑year production plan is now well under way.”
