FIFA Rejects Morocco’s Claim to Host the 2030 World Cup Final

FIFA has responded to a claim by the president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation that his nation will host the 2030 FIFA World Cup final, stating that the decision has not yet been made.
Morocco is slated to co‑host the 2030 tournament with Spain and Portugal. This would make it the second African nation to stage a World Cup final, following South Africa’s 2010 edition.
FIFA informed press that a host venue for the final will be selected “in due course.”
Fouzi Lekjaa, head of the RMFF, asserted during a recent political rally that the right to host lies with the country. “The city of Benslimane will host the World Cup final…”, he declared, expressing hope that the nearby King Hassan II Stadium would serve as the arena.
The 115,000‑seat King Hassan II Stadium, being constructed near Casablanca, will play host to the match.
FIFA previously refuted reports that British media had suggested President Gianni Infantino pledged the final to Morocco in exchange for political support ahead of his re‑election campaign.
