Approximately 70% of the country disapproves of President Donald Trump’s first two years in office, yet First Lady Melania Trump insists her husband is giving his absolute best.
“I believe he is doing the best he can,” Trump told Fox & Friends hosts on Wednesday morning when asked about his performance compared to his first term.
“He is highly focused and has a lot on his plate,” she noted. “The global landscape has changed significantly. However, I believe he is doing his utmost. He works tirelessly, possessing unmatched energy, working from morning until evening without stopping.”
This comes alongside numerous Republican statements—many originating from within the administration itself—urging voters that despite rising gas prices, increased grocery costs, and roughly one million individuals losing health care coverage, they should not penalize the party at the ballot box.
Last week, Vice President JD Vance implored voters in an interview to “give us another chance,” urging them to look past current economic and policy concerns.
“Even if you disagree with us on every issue, the opposing party is consumed by chaos,” he added.
The vice president echoed these sentiments during his address at the emergency midterm Republican National Convention, pleading with conservatives to “give us another chance, or another couple of years, to continue working on the remarkable achievements we have made over the past two years.”
Still, a growing number of independents and conservatives appear prepared to oust Republicans from Congress, regardless of their optimistic promises.
