Fitness influencer Edda Elisa Pilz said she was denied boarding a Lufthansa flight from Berlin to Austria because she was wearing athletic attire, alleging that an airline employee repeatedly called her “naked” during the incident as temperatures reached 30 °C (86 °F).

Pilz, a 24‑year‑old with over 500,000 followers on both Instagram and TikTok, posted a video of the encounter while preparing to board the Lufthansa flight during a summer heatwave. The clip has been widely shared on social media, where she questioned whether the airline enforces a dress code and criticized the employee’s treatment of her.

Pilz said she was waiting for her boarding pass to be scanned when a Lufthansa employee stopped her from boarding.

According to Pilz, the employee said she could not board in that attire and then repeatedly told her she was “naked.”

Pilz said she was wearing a matching athletic top and shorts and questioned why such an outfit was considered inappropriate in summer heat.

“What am I supposed to wear?” she asked in the video. “It is clothing.”

Pilz said the employee told her she was not wearing “normal” clothing and asked her to cover up before boarding.

She said she put on a jacket, but was then required to zip it fully before being allowed to proceed.

She alleged that the employee then blamed her for delaying the boarding process.

According to Pilz, the employee said, “Because of you, we are now delayed. Because of you, the entire flight is delayed, as you are holding up all the traffic here.”

Pilz replied that she had only asked for an explanation because she had never encountered an airline dress code.

She also claimed that men wearing shorts were allowed to board the same flight without being stopped.

She said the incident was less about whether Lufthansa has a clothing policy and more about how she was treated by the employee.

“I can accept rules,” she said. “But the attitude was unacceptable.”

Pilz concluded the video by directly questioning Lufthansa about whether it condones such customer service and indicated she was awaiting an official response.

Lufthansa’s General Conditions of Carriage do not contain a specific dress‑code provision. The airline may refuse transportation if a passenger’s conduct threatens safety, security, health, or the wellbeing of other travelers, or for operational or security reasons, though it does not explicitly address athletic apparel.

Pilz and Lufthansa did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
