T20 international cricket is synonymous with expansive stroke play and high-scoring encounters, yet even established full-member nations have occasionally endured monumental batting failures. A convergence of exceptional bowling, treacherous pitch conditions, and misplaced shot selection can lead to an entire side being dismissed for a shockingly low score.
Over the years, several full-member squads have found themselves on the losing end of such carnage. West Indies appear twice on this ranking, while Sri Lanka recently entered the conversation after being dismissed for merely 45 against India during the Asian Games T20 semi-final.
Five Lowest All-Out T20I Scores by Full-Member Nations
1. West Indies – 45 vs England, Basseterre, 2019
West Indies equaled the lowest all-out tally by a full-member side in T20I history, losing all wickets for 45 against England at Warner Park, Basseterre, in 2019. While chasing 183, the hosts could not withstand the English bowling assault and were all out in just 11.5 overs.
Chris Jordan delivered a match-defining performance with the ball, extracting a vicious spell of 4/6 from two overs. The England fast bowler found consistent ways through the defense, as the West Indies top order failed to forge any significant partnership. This collapse marked the lowest T20I total for a Test-playing nation at the time.
2. Sri Lanka – 45 vs India, Nisshin, 2026
Sri Lanka matched the lowest-ever total for a full-member team when they were bowled out for 45 against India in the semi-final of the 2026 Asian Games T20 tournament in Nisshin, Japan. Chasing 170, Sri Lanka struggled from the outset on a difficult pitch that offered considerable assistance to the bowlers.
India’s attack made full use of the challenging conditions, with Abhishek Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel taking two wickets apiece. Abhishek finished with 2/2, while Bumrah and Axar returned figures of 2/7 and 2/8 respectively. Sri Lanka were dismissed in only 9.5 overs, matching West Indies’ unwanted record for the lowest all-out total by a full-member side in T20Is.
3. West Indies – 55 vs England, Dubai, 2021
West Indies appear on the list for a second time after another major batting collapse against England during the 2021 T20 World Cup in Dubai. Batting first in their Super 12 encounter, the Caribbean side struggled to score freely and were eventually bowled out for just 55 in 14.2 overs.
England’s spinners played a major role in dismantling the West Indies batting lineup. Adil Rashid produced one of the most remarkable spells of the tournament, claiming 4/2 as he ran through the lower order. Moeen Ali also made an important contribution with 2/17, keeping the pressure on the batters and preventing West Indies from recovering.
4. Afghanistan – 56 vs South Africa, Tarouba, 2024
Afghanistan recorded the fourth-lowest all-out total by a full-member team when they were dismissed for 56 against South Africa in the 2024 T20 World Cup semi-final at Tarouba in Trinidad. Afghanistan opted to bat first but found the conditions extremely difficult, with the pitch offering variable bounce and significant movement for the bowlers.
South Africa’s pace attack made the most of the conditions as Marco Jansen and Kagiso Rabada caused early damage. Jansen finished with 3/16, while Rabada claimed 2/14 before Tabraiz Shamsi completed the collapse with 3/6. Afghanistan were bowled out in just 11.5 overs, leaving South Africa with a straightforward chase in the semi-final.
5. Zimbabwe – 57 vs Pakistan, Bulawayo, 2024
Zimbabwe occupy fifth place after being bowled out for 57 against Pakistan in Bulawayo in 2024. Playing at home, the Zimbabwean batting lineup struggled to deal with Pakistan’s disciplined bowling attack and failed to establish a substantial partnership during the innings.
Pakistan kept the pressure on throughout the innings and prevented Zimbabwe’s batters from building any meaningful momentum. Wickets continued to fall at regular intervals before the hosts were eventually dismissed for 57, completing another remarkably low total in T20I cricket involving a full-member team.
