Several legacy artists — those who no longer release new music or are primarily known for classic hits from decades past — consistently maintain a presence on the Billboard charts. Most achieve this through a single greatest hits compilation, a standout single, or another well-known album.
Fleetwood Mac is among the rare bands that regularly appear across multiple chart categories with several albums. While Rumours remains one of the group’s highest-performing releases, it has not deterred fans from continuing to stream the band’s catalog.
The band’s Greatest Hits compilation frequently appears on numerous Billboard charts, consistently ranking as a top-selling rock album in the United States. Driven by ongoing streaming of its hits — including tracks also featured on Rumours — the compilation has reached an uncommon milestone on the flagship Billboard 200 chart, a feat Fleetwood Mac has achieved only once before.

Fleetwood Mac’s Greatest Hits Reaches 400 Weeks
<
As of this week, Greatest Hits has spent 400 weeks on the Billboard 200, the primary chart tracking album consumption in America. This ranking incorporates both traditional sales and streaming data to measure the most-consumed albums and EPs.
<
This week, the compilation drops five positions from No. 13 to No. 18 on the chart. Notably, it reached its peak position of No. 13 just last week, many years after its original release date.
Fleetwood Mac Has Two 400-Week-Charting Albums

Greatest Hits is only the second Fleetwood Mac release to spend at least 400 weeks on the Billboard 200. It ranks behind only Rumours, which has charted for 698 weeks and is poised to enter the 700-week club within the month. Historically, only a select few albums have maintained such longevity on the Billboard 200.
Fleetwood Mac’s Other Triple-Digit-Charter
Another Fleetwood Mac album achieving 100 weeks on the Billboard 200 is the band’s self-titled 1975 studio album. It debuted in August 1975, climbed to No. 1, and has since accumulated 170 weeks on the chart.
Fleetwood Mac’s Greatest Hits Appears on Six Charts
This week, Greatest Hits appears on six different Billboard charts, all within the top 20. The compilation ranks as follows: No. 4 on Top Rock Albums, No. 6 on Top Rock & Alternative Albums, No. 11 on Vinyl Albums, No. 17 on Top Streaming Albums, No. 18 on the Billboard 200, and No. 19 on Top Album Sales.
While the compilation appears on five of the six charts at rankings better than No. 17, it holds steady at its all-time peak position of No. 17 on the Top Streaming Albums chart.
Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours Remains a Multi-Chart Winner
Rumours shares four of the same six Billboard rankings with Greatest Hits and similarly experiences minor position changes. The classic album appears on Vinyl Albums (No. 17), Top Album Sales (No. 28), Top Rock & Alternative Albums (No. 37), and the Billboard 200 (No. 135). Despite slight declines across these charts, Rumours maintains strong performance — particularly on vinyl — while continuing its nearly 700-week run on the Billboard 200.
