FLORIDA BARR
POSES EMPLOYEE ON ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE FOLLOWING OFFENSIVE REMARKS TO MIAMI HURRIED PLAYER
The Florida Bar announced Tuesday that an employee has been placed on administrative leave while an investigation proceeds into online remarks sent to a Miami Hurricanes football player after the team’s 43‑35 victory over Florida State last weekend.
Kade McLendon, who has worked as a computer technician with the bar for roughly two years, was identified as the suspect. An account using his name posted a series of messages to Miami’s Damon Wilson II following the win, containing racist slurs and homophobic language.
Wilson, a Black defensive lineman, publicly shared a screenshot of the messages earlier Sunday, dubbing them “a glimpse into the life of a black student athlete.”

The Florida Bar said the communications breach its internal social‑media policy and committed to enforcing rules while protecting due‑process rights during the ongoing review.
An attempt by The Associated Press to contact McLendon on Tuesday was unsuccessful. He stressed that, “It’s more than a game—my brother”—highlighting personal ties despite the offensive nature of the posts.
The league’s top-ranked Miami Hurricanes will face Pittsburgh at home on Saturday.
