Flydubai flights to Israel suspended amid investigation into attempted hijacking, airline says

All Flydubai flights connecting to and from Israel’s Ben‑Gurion International Airport were temporarily grounded on Wednesday after an attempted hijacking of Flight FZ1073 en routing from Dubai to Tel Aviv earlier that morning, according to the carrier’s statement.

“Implementing this brief suspension provides essential time for the relevant authorities to conduct a thorough inquiry and establish concrete facts regarding the incident,” the airline noted. “We continue to coordinate closely with government officials, regulators, and airport stakeholders, and will reassess the suspension as further information becomes available.”

This decision follows a recommendation from Israel’s Shin Bet, which urged the suspension of air travel between the United Arab Emirates and Israel until the investigation reaches a resolution.
