Dublin-based Fontaines D.C. have officially confirmed a major headline concert at Slane Castle in 2027, with Hayley Williams joining them as a special guest. The event will take place at the historic County Meath venue on June 26, 2027, and will also feature Damien Dempsey and Madra Salach on the bill.
The announcement comes just days after the band’s headlining slots at Reading & Leeds and Electric Picnic. During their Electric Picnic performance in County Laois on August 30, the band teased the upcoming Slane show as the phrase “Slane 2027” illuminated the stage screens.
This concert will see Fontaines D.C. become only the third Irish act to headline Slane Castle, following in the footsteps of Thin Lizzy in 1981 and U2 in 2001. The amphitheater holds a concert capacity of 80,000 and has hosted numerous global superstars over the past 45 years. Previous headliners include The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Queen, David Bowie, Bob Dylan, Guns N’ Roses, Oasis, Madonna, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, Eminem, and Harry Styles.
Pre-sale tickets will be available from 10:00 AM BST tomorrow (September 1), requiring fan registration by 9:00 PM BST today. The general sale commences at 10:00 AM BST on Thursday (September 3).
Notably, the show is scheduled for the Saturday evening of next year’s Glastonbury weekend. At the time of writing, no performers have been confirmed for the 2027 edition of the Worthy Farm festival.
The Slane performance follows the upcoming release of the band’s fifth studio album, ‘Dopamine Chamber’, due on October 16 via XL Recordings. Produced by James Ford, the record succeeds the band’s UK platinum-certified 2024 album ‘Romance’.
Frontman Grian Chatten described the album as a “dopamine chamber,” explaining, “You step inside and we test these different mind- or mood-altering pieces of music on you.”
The album has been previewed by the lead single ‘Marianne’, as well as new tracks including ‘Six Shot Morning’ and ‘Happy, For You’.
Fontaines gave ‘Happy, For You’ its live debut at Leeds Festival on Saturday (August 29), after technical and logistical issues forced them to omit the track from their Reading headline set the previous evening.
The Electric Picnic appearance marked the band’s first headline performance at the festival and their first Irish show since the passing of longtime manager Trevor Dietz in June. The band had previously described Dietz as their “sixth member.”
