Ford Motor Company is recalling approximately 11,405 model year 2026 Ford Ranger pickup trucks due to a rearview camera defect that may cause the center display screen to lose power, preventing the camera feed from appearing while reversing.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the affected vehicles are equipped with a 10.1-inch center stack screen that may intermittently lose power, resulting in a failure to display the rearview camera image. This impairment reduces a driver’s visibility when backing up, potentially increasing the risk of a crash.
The NHTSA noted that while no accidents or injuries related to this issue have been reported, the remedy for the defect is currently under development. Interim notification letters informing owners of the safety risk are scheduled to be mailed by October 5, with additional communications to follow once a fix becomes available.
