Tokyo — Former Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda, who served from 2007 to 2008, worked at an oil company during the first oil shock of 1973, an experience that shapes his current advocacy for nuclear energy as a solution to reduce dependence on Middle Eastern oil supplies.
