According to Fightful Select, preliminary discussions have taken place between former TNA World Champion Steve Maclin and AEW. The outlet noted that it remains unclear whether an agreement will be reached in the near future.
Maclin, who previously held the IMPACT/TNA Wrestling World Championship, requested and received his release from the promotion. He cited creative differences and changes to his contract as the reasons for his departure.
His wife, Deonna Purrazzo, currently holds the ROH Pure Women’s Championship. She is presently recovering from an ankle/foot injury suffered during ROH television tapings on June 22.
In the season‑finale episode of the Boots to Boots podcast, Maclin expressed his enthusiasm about the possibility of working for ROH.
