The Sprint race is set to begin shortly. Below is a concise overview of the format.
Sprint races are conducted at select events on the Formula 1 calendar, taking place the day before the main Grand Prix.
These races cover 100 kilometers, approximately one-third the distance of a standard Grand Prix, and feature no mandatory pit stops, emphasizing continuous high-speed competition. At Silverstone, the race will span 17 laps.
Drivers compete for championship points awarded to the top eight finishers, with the winner receiving eight points and the eighth-place driver earning one point.
This will mark the first Sprint race at Silverstone since 2021, which originally hosted the inaugural F1 Sprint weekend.
