For decades, paleontologists presumed dinosaurs were slow, cold-blooded reptiles. Subsequent research challenged this view, indicating that mature dinosaurs possessed warm-blooded metabolisms capable of regulating internal temperature.
While the scientific consensus now holds that Tyrannosaurus rex was endothermic, determining the precise core body temperature of an extinct predator remains a significant challenge.
