As per state media reports, four additional terrorists have been neutralized during the ongoing Operation Shaban in Balochistan, raising the operation’s total casualty count to 83. Pakistan TV, citing security sources, confirmed this development on Tuesday.
The military campaign follows a severe attack on a police post at the Mangi Dam pumping station in Ziarat, where assailants killed 27 officers. Security forces, including the army, Frontier Corps, police, and Anti-Terrorism Force, are executing the coordinated operation.
According to a statement on the social media platform X, security sources report the elimination of four “khawarij” terrorists in recent air and ground operations. The total number of terrorists neutralized in Operation Shaban now stands at 83.
The broadcaster has stated that since July 5, 121 “khawarij” terrorists have been eliminated in Operation Shaban and related counter-terrorism efforts. The operation will persist “until the last terrorist is neutralized,” per the announcement.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi highlighted that the operation underscores “the high level of preparedness, professionalism, and operational readiness of Pakistan’s security forces,” as quoted in an official statement.
The government referenced “Fitna al-Hindustan”—a term for India-backed militant groups in Balochistan—that continue orchestrating attacks on Pakistani territory.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif previously emphasized a unified national resolve to eliminate terrorism, following multiple severe incidents in the region last month.
