Ronan Auge Placed in Medically Induced Coma After Tour of Langkawi Crash
The 22‑year‑old sustained serious injuries on stage six of the UCI ProSeries event and was taken to hospital.
Unibet Red Roses confirmed that Auge’s condition remains stable and not life‑threatening.
His crash adds to a troubling series of serious incidents that have marred road cycling over the past few months.
Six riders have died during road races in the past three years, including British cyclist Fin Tarling who was killed in a collision with a vehicle on the UCI Europe tour’s Volta a Portugal in August.
Earlier, U.S. rider Ezra Caudell was hospitalized last month, external after suffering multi‑system trauma during a crash at the Philadelphia Cycling Classic.
The eight‑stage Tour of Langkawi, which makes up the second tier of the UCI calendar, takes place on the western coast of the Malaysian mainland and concludes on Sunday.
