The Florida State University softball program announced the addition of talented twins Keira and Kelsey Luderer to its 2028 recruiting class, with the players sharing the news via social media on Thursday night.
Both athletes enjoyed outstanding high school careers at Notre Dame High School in Thousand Oaks, California, where they developed into versatile players capable of contributing across multiple positions for the Seminoles. Their commitments mark FSU’s second and third additions to the 2028 cycle, joining previously committed player Paityn Donalson.
Keira demonstrated exceptional offensive prowess as a sophomore, batting .455 with five home runs, 10 doubles, 23 RBI, and 21 runs scored across 26 games. Her plate discipline was equally impressive, drawing eight walks while striking out only three times, resulting in a .494 on-base percentage and .805 slugging percentage.
Over her 57-game high school career, Keira has maintained a .417 batting average with 12 home runs, 13 doubles, 48 RBI, and a .782 slugging percentage. She has committed just four errors, achieving a .984 fielding percentage.
Ranked No. 83 overall and No. 11 catcher nationally by Softball America, Keira earned a 91.00 grade and holds a four-star prospect designation, making her the highest-ranked commit for FSU in this class.
While Kelsey may not hold the same national rankings, her performance exceeded her sister’s during their sophomore campaign. She posted a .514 batting average with six home runs, nine doubles, 40 RBI, and 25 runs scored in just 72 at-bats. Her outstanding season also included a .568 on-base percentage and .917 slugging percentage.
This represented significant improvement from her freshman year, when she hit .395 with two home runs, seven doubles, and 19 RBI in 86 at-bats. Defensively, Kelsey has made seven errors in 57 career games, compiling a .953 fielding percentage.
