It’s been an extraordinarily challenging year for Below Deck Mediterranean’s Gael Cameron.
Season 11 followed the new mother as she cared for infant Kayden in Croatia while his father, Nathan Gallager, put in long hours aboard the nearby superyacht Akira One.
After the season wrapped, the pair parted ways following an alleged domestic‑violence incident in December 2025 that led to Gallagher’s arrest on assault charges; Bravo has since severed its relationship with him.
Although Gallagher discussed the matter in a Rolling Stone interview, Cameron had remained silent—until she decided to speak.
On Friday, the former cast member turned to Instagram to share her thoughts on Season 11 and its aftermath.
“You didn’t see much of my time in Croatia,” she said. “It wasn’t an easy period, and there’s still a lot to discuss. Still, I want to highlight some of the positive moments you missed.”
She posted candid snapshots from Aesha Scott’s engagement party—the Below Deck Season 11 head steward’s celebration that appeared briefly in the finale—featuring Captain Sandy Yawn and former chief steward Hannah Ferrier.
“I relocated with a newborn, still in survival mode, but I believe I handled things quite well.”
She also posted pictures of herself with Kayden.
“Leaving my support network behind wasn’t part of the plan, but I’m grateful for the experience,” she continued. “Croatia revealed the strength I possess as a mother and a woman; no matter how difficult the situation, I will persevere. Moreover, I’ll always discover moments of joy—life is beautiful, and there’s always light if you keep looking for it.”
