DETROIT — General Motors is scheduled to report its third-quarter earnings before the market opens on Tuesday. According to LSEG-compiled average estimates, Wall Street anticipates the following:

  • Earnings per share: $3.63 adjusted estimate
  • Revenue: $48.70 billion projected

<

These figures would represent relatively flat revenue compared to the same period last year and a approximately 30% increase in adjusted earnings per share. GM’s 2025 third-quarter results included $48.59 billion in revenue, net income of $1.3 billion, and adjusted earnings per share of $2.80.

Investors will monitor whether GM raises its 2026 guidance and seek insights into expectations for the upcoming year, which analysts expect to present challenges for the U.S. automotive sector.

JPMorgan analyst Rajat Gupta noted in an October 11 investor note that while third-quarter results may see in-line to slightly better performance, investor attention is likely to center on 2027 outlook adjustments, with results unlikely to drive significant upside.

Wall Street analysts remain divided on whether GM, known for its annual guidance increases, will revise projections this quarter amid concerns over slowing sales and rising commodity costs.

GM recently updated its 2026 forecast during second-quarter reporting, projecting adjusted EBIT between $14 billion and $16 billion, or $12 to $14 adjusted EPS. The company also forecasts adjusted automotive free cash flow between $9.5 billion and $11.5 billion.

Beyond financial results and guidance, market participants will look for updates on GM’s redesigned full-size pickup truck launch, warranty enhancements, and potential growth in software and service segments.
