[Geordie Greep Addresses Allegations of Sexual Misconduct]
On Saturday, several dates on Geordie Greep’s extended U.S. tour were cancelled after an anonymous allegation of sexual misconduct surfaced involving the singer. A recent report in Paste reveals that the accuser – using her pseudonym, Laura – has come forward to describe the incident for the first time. In an interview with Tatiana Tenreyro of Paste, Laura recounted meeting Greep and his touring keyboardist, Cameron Campbell, at a bar before the group moved to an additional private residence. “It got very late; I was heavily intoxicated and drifted off onto the couch,” she told Paste. “When I awoke, Geordie was kissing me—not merely a brief peck—and realizing what was happening, I shoved him away and confronted him. Had I remained drowsier longer, the outcome could have differed.”
Campbell corroborated Laura’s account, sharing his own perspective in a statement published by Paste. He clarified that although he was not present during the alleged encounter, he noticed signs that something was amiss and observed the immediate fallout. After speaking separately with Laura, Campbell confirmed she claimed Geordie kissed her while she was unconscious. “Because of what I saw and what I later learned, I decided to walk away from the relationship,” Campbell explained. Pitchfork has contacted both Greep’s management and Campbell for additional input.
Greep addressed the incident via Instagram, offering his initial version and expressing remorse toward the accuser. “I collapsed in an armchair early the next morning and found myself awake,” his post read. “A member of the travel group lay across from me on a sofa along with three others who were present that night. Although earlier that evening I incorrectly assumed she was interested, I approached her and briefly kissed her; she recoiled, pushed me away, and asked me to depart. She was visibly distressed and demanded I go, stating she had been unconscious while I slept.”
Greep’s European tour, which kicks off November 1 in the Netherlands, is still scheduled to take place.
