New York Giants kick returner Braxton Berrios revealed via Instagram that he will require surgery to address a foot and ankle injury, prematurely concluding his 2024 campaign.
“Two of my last three seasons ended this way, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t miserable right now,” Berrios wrote. “I felt I belonged here this year, and everything finally fell in place. Now it feels like everything I’ve poured into the last nine months is gone in the blink of an eye. The timing that I thought had arrived feels like a punishment again, but the good news about God is I know it’s coming. Maybe not when we want but always on time. Time to rebuild. Pray for the Bear.”
The Giants elevated Berrios to the active roster following the release of Odell Beckham Jr. In his absence, Charlie Jones assumed return duties against the Arizona Cardinals. Through limited action this season, Berrios averaged 2.5 yards on four punt returns and 27.6 yards on five kickoff returns.
