General admission tickets for Glastonbury Festival 2027 were fully allocated within 42 minutes of going on sale, prompting a mix of celebration and disappointment from fans seeking a return to Worthy Farm.
The sale opened at 9:00am on Sunday, October 4, as large numbers of hopeful buyers joined the virtual queue for the festival’s first event since 2025.
At 9:42am, See Tickets confirmed that the entire ticket allocation had been secured.
“Tickets for @Glastonbury Festival 2027 are now SOLD OUT,” it wrote. “Confirmation emails are going out now. Thank you to everyone who bought tickets this morning and sorry to those who missed out.”

The general admission sale followed Thursday’s October 1 coach and ticket package release, which sold out in under 30 minutes.
Glastonbury 2027 will be the festival’s first edition after its 2026 fallow year, and will take place at Worthy Farm from Wednesday, June 23 to Sunday, June 27.
Organisers had earlier announced that general admission tickets would cost £408 each, including a £5 booking fee, pushing the price above £400 for the first time. Buyers were required to pay a £100 deposit during the sale, with the remaining £308 payable between April 1 and 7 next year.
Buyers again used the updated ticketing system introduced for Thursday’s coach sale. Fans entered registration details before accessing the virtual queue, and each registration was tied to a single queue position rather than allowing multiple attempts across different devices.
Once inside the queue, fans saw a row of progress blocks that gradually turned green as they moved closer to the front, instead of receiving a numerical queue number.
The appearance of stalled green bars quickly became a recurring source of frustration.

Why does everyone get thirsty in the glastonbury tickets queue?
Cos they only have 2 bars.

On Glastonbury’s subreddit, one hopeful described the waiting process as “2 bars of hell,” while another joked: “Well, maybe the real Glastonbury tickets were the 2 bars we met along the way.”
Some users also reported technical issues, including “access restricted” messages despite saying they were not using VPNs or attempting to bypass the queue.
At 9:26am, 26 minutes after the sale began, the queue page displayed an early indication of how quickly tickets were being taken.
“Over half the available tickets have now been sold, the queue for remaining tickets is moving steadily,” the message read.
By that point, however, some successful buyers were already sharing confirmation posts.

One Reddit user said they had completed their purchase by 9:04am, writing: “I don’t think I’ve ever had a lucky thing in my life happen to me until right now.”
For context, general tickets for Glastonbury 2025 sold out in 35 minutes, after coach packages were claimed in 32 minutes. The general admission resale the following spring lasted only 19 minutes.
Fans who did not secure tickets will have another chance when unwanted tickets, and those with outstanding balances, are released in the spring 2027 resale.
No acts have yet been officially announced for Glastonbury 2027, although organiser Emily Eavis confirmed in August that all three Pyramid Stage headliners have already been booked.
Early bookmakers’ favourites have included Sam Fender, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Rihanna and Little Simz, while Harry Styles, Radiohead, Fontaines D.C., Muse and The Rolling Stones have also been the subject of speculation.
Styles’ recently announced 2027 tour dates leave him available over Glastonbury weekend, and Fontaines D.C. currently have Friday, June 25, free before two major shows at Slane Castle.
Speculation around The Rolling Stones has also persisted. Ronnie Wood told NME this week that he would play Glastonbury 2027 “in the drop of a hat,” although he admitted he did not know whether his bandmates felt the same way.
Robbie Williams has, meanwhile, announced outdoor shows for the week immediately after Glastonbury, fuelling suggestions that he could be considered for the Sunday Legends Slot.
Two major names have effectively been ruled out. Eavis dismissed speculation around Madonna, saying: “No, it’s definitely not Madonna,” and later responded to calls for Oasis to headline with: “Sorry Jimmy, not this time!”
The most recent Glastonbury, in 2025, was headlined by The 1975, Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo, with other major performances from Charli XCX, Wolf Alice, Rod Stewart, Doechii, RAYE, Kneecap and Pulp.
