Conflict in Lebanon has severely disrupted humanitarian operations worldwide, according to World Food Programme Executive Director Carl Skau. He emphasized that in the world’s poorest countries, rising costs have diminished aid deliveries and strained supply chains, leaving communities with reduced access to food. “People are now eating less,” Skau stated, underscoring the urgent challenges facing vulnerable populations amid ongoing instability.
