Achraf Hakimi, the flying fullback, scored a hat-trick as Paris Saint-Germain thrashed bottom-placed Le Havre 5-1, extending their lead at the top of Ligue 1 on Friday.

Despite having several key players injured, the European champions were able to rest important starters and still secure an impressive victory, moving to 20 points from their first nine league matches.

In addition to his three goals at Stade Oceane, Hakimi provided two assists, setting up Mika Godts and Senny Mayulu, after Josh Maja had given the hosts an early lead.

This victory marked PSG’s ninth consecutive win across all competitions.

Le Havre endured their fifth consecutive defeat, remaining at the bottom with only two points, but they initially sparked hope with an early goal from Maja.

Hakimi assisted Godts for the equalizer before putting PSG ahead in the 28th minute with a near-post shot.

The Morocco international then scored from a free kick into the bottom corner in the 55th minute, and later initiated a counterattack that led to Mayulu’s goal, making it 4-1 in the 62nd minute.

Hakimi completed his hat-trick with a deflected shot in the 69th minute.

PSG coach Luis Enrique commented, “I’m pleased because some players had limited playing time. To win trophies, we need everyone contributing.”
