England’s Rew, returning to his county after a challenging Test debut against New Zealand, struck a rapid century off just 43 balls for Somerset, securing an 18‑run victory over Gloucestershire.

He remained unbeaten on 116 from 56 deliveries, striking 19 boundaries, as Somerset posted a total of 194 for seven.

The loss of captain Jack Taylor left Gloucestershire at 97 for four after 11 overs, yet a 55‑run fifth‑wicket stand between Liam Scott and Kamran Dhariwal revived their chances.

Daniel Sams ended that stand in the 18th over, and Australian seamer Riley Meredith added two wickets in the next over, effectively ending Gloucestershire’s hopes.

Warwickshire opener Zen Malik fell just short of a maiden T20 century, but his side kept their Blast revival on track with a 59‑run win over neighbours Worcestershire at Edgbaston.

The Bears, who opened the competition with five consecutive losses — including a six‑ wicket defeat at New Road — appeared poised for a big total as Malik and in‑form Beau Webster added 177 runs together.

Malik reached fifty in only 19 balls, but after being caught at cover just shy of his hundred and Webster (79 from 44) run out by a sharp throw from Ben Allison, the home side collapsed to 224 all out.

Nevertheless, the total proved sufficient; Worcestershire lost wickets steadily and, despite a 49 from 35 by Adam Hose, managed only 165 for seven in reply.
