Haredi demonstrators converged on the Maccabim checkpoint near Modi’in Thursday evening after rumors circulated that police were detaining a draft evader at the location, according to N12 News.
Security personnel on the scene informed the crowd that the individual in custody was actually an undocumented resident, not a draft dodger.
Videos circulating on social media appeared to depict physical confrontations between police officers and protesters.
