Harry Styles has honored Oscar Belgal after he was fatally shot by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent.
The incident occurred earlier this month when the 28-year-old driver was struck in his car on October 8 while his five-year-old son sat in the rear seat. Belagal survived the attack and is currently being held at a detention facility.
The Department of Homeland Security defended the conduct of the ICE agents involved, noting they were attempting to arrest a man with an alleged criminal background and were “aware” that his son was inside the vehicle at the time (per BBC News).
During his extended residency in New York—the city where the shooting occurred—Harry Styles addressed the tragedy and urged attendees to make a conscious effort to “look after each other”.
“I just want us to take a moment to think about Oscar Belgal tonight, and I want us to think and remember to simply look after each other,” he shared while performing at Madison Square Garden. “It is up to us to shape the cities we inhabit into the environments we desire, and it falls to us to create a world worthy of our children.”
“So, please, continue looking after each other,” he added. “And remember: your friends, the loved ones, the individuals who may appear different to you and are not of the same birthplace, deserve respect, love, dignity, and justice.”
His exceptional thirty-night residency at New York’s historic venue launched late August and has featured tributes to Dolly Parton, alongside references to Taylor Swift’s wedding ceremony which was held at the same site.
These performances form part of his ‘Together, Together’ tour, which includes a record-breaking twelve shows at London’s Wembley Stadium, plus dates across Amsterdam, São Paulo, and Mexico City.
Shows at Madison Square Garden culminate with a “Harryween” presentation on October 31, before further dates in Melbourne and Sydney later in December.
Styles also disclosed the “final” venues for the upcoming month, with additional events slated for 2027 supported by artists including Kylie Minogue and LCD Soundsystem.
The 2027 schedule partners with Green Nation—Live Nation’s global sustainability arm—to lower emissions and promote greener fan travel options wherever possible. Every performance supports the “Choose Love” initiative for its tenth year, with proceeds in the United States directed toward HeadCount, an organization leveraging music to foster voter registration and civic engagement.
The tour supports his fourth solo album, ‘Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally’, released in March, earning a five‑star score from NME which praised the show as “a hopeful celebration of community and connection”.
