On Friday, October 16, marking the second anniversary of the passing of former One Direction member Liam Payne, Harry Styles debuted a moving new tribute song during his live performance at Madison Square Garden. Styles, who released his latest album, Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally, earlier this year, used the occasion to honor his late former bandmate.
Styles is currently in the midst of a 30-night residency at the iconic New York City venue. “I feel incredibly lucky to get to play these shows here in New York, and this building means a lot to me,” Styles told the audience. “And two years ago today, I lost one of those friends.”
“I’m sure a lot of you have been through similar things. I hope you haven’t. But really, it’s just about looking after each other,” he added. “So many people who have touched my life in such special ways, I wouldn’t be here without. I’m gonna play you a song I wrote for my friend about two years ago, if that’s all right.” He then introduced the track, titled “What Is Enough.”
In addition to his musical performances, Styles was recently seen filming in New York City alongside director John Wilson. View his MSG performance below.
