In response to pressure from the U.S. administration, Cuba’s government has implemented economic reforms aimed at addressing systemic challenges. However, the island continues to face severe infrastructure gaps, with power outages and fuel shortages worsening daily.
Residents report receiving only two hours of electricity per day, leading to growing dissatisfaction among the population. Basic services remain unreliable, exacerbating daily hardships.
As stated by a local inhabitant interviewed by FRANCE 24, “We are now mobilizing due to the unbearable conditions. Power cuts occur unpredictably, and this treatment is unacceptable.”
