Polling stations across the Holborn and St Pancras constituency have opened, with candidates from across the political spectrum vying to succeed the former prime minister as MP.
Roughly 30 stations at churches and community centres began voting at 07:00 BST and will close at 22:00, with a count scheduled to follow.
The seat was vacated after Sir Keir Starmer announced he would stand down to take up a role in international affairs.
Fifteen candidates are on the ballot, including a single independent contender.
Voters are required to present valid photo identification, such as a driving licence or passport, before receiving a ballot.
