Hong Kong’s competition watchdog carried out raids on 11 offices and residences linked to an alleged bid‑rigging scheme involving contracts to supply virtual‑reality systems to schools and nonprofit groups, with the contracts worth about HK$10 million.

The Competition Commission announced on Friday that it had obtained warrants and searched the 11 locations — which included IT service providers, equipment firms, other companies and the homes of several suspects — as part of an operation conducted the previous day under the codename “Lens”.

The watchdog said the companies are accused of bid‑rigging, price‑fixing, market‑sharing and exchanging competitively sensitive information while submitting quotes for VR equipment and software‑installation services to schools and nonprofit organisations.

The contracts involved are estimated to be worth around HK$10 million (approximately US$1.3 million).
